New Minor Volunteers (Ages 12 to 17)

...All first-time minor volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application process which includes reference checks in accordance with the Child Protection Policy of Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. Prior to completing the application, volunteers will be asked to read and agree to CEF's online Statement of Faith & Ministry Compliance Agreement, and watch a presentation of the Protecting Today's Child video.

There are three parts to the volunteer approval process.  All three steps, below are required to be completed  before you can serve in a CEF ministry:

  1. Volunteer application (background checks will not be performed if you are under age 18, but we will check with references you name on the application). You will be asked to name 4 references (a Pastor or Youth Pastor, Sunday School teacher, or other Christian Ministry worker plus two personal references not related to you (sports coach, neighbor, family friend or someone you may babysit for).  Please gather names and a way to contact them (phone #, email) before beginning the application.  Also, be prepared to write a short testimony about how you came to believe in Jesus as your Savior.
  2. Interview and Photo ID Check (you will be contacted by the Ministry Coordinator overseeing the Good News Club in which you will be helping).
  3. Photography and Video Release Form (this will require a parent or guardian signature along with name of a witness to the signature) Form is found on the page after you click on "Get Started", below.

For Good News Club volunteers, once all of these parts are completed and you are appoved, you will be issued a Good News Club (GNC) name tag by the local CEF office with the current year, to indicate you have completed the necessary screening.  It is essential that you wear this name tag when you serve at a GNC.  Talk to your GNC team leader if you would like to receive more training.
